Why do some people think that a wife cheating on her husband is worst than a husband cheating on his wife?
To me it’s equally wrong but I have been reading different sites about cheating spouses and when it comes to the husband cheating they didn’t make it seem so bad but when it came to the wife cheating it made her seem like a horrible disrespectful person. But they both are! I don’t understand!

Perhaps it’s because of the REASONS why husbands cheat vs wives. Typically when men cheat it’s more about the sex. Guy on a business trip who just can’t pass up the hot chick in the hotel bar who’s up for a little action. But when wives cheat on their husbands, it’s rarely JUST about the sex. It’s more about the lack of a connection they have with their husbands, and the connection they’ve developed with somebody else. A lot easier for a wife to forgive a husband for the nameless stranger he had a one night stand with while on a layover in Dallas TX, than it is for a husband to forgive his wife for the 9 month affair she’s had!

I’m guilty of thinking that too about a woman cheating being worse. Why I don’t know. I just do. I do feel and know that it’s wrong for a man to cheat, but for some reason it seems worse for a woman to cheat. Maybe because I think a woman has something that is incredibly special and belongs to only their husband. Same thing for a man too but it just seems that the woman is seen as more “pure” than a man. I don’t understand why I feel this way, but I do.

You are right, they both are, but it has been a long tradition that women have been looked down upon if they were loose with their morals and it seems it continues. I would guess one of the big reasons that may have started was because if she got pregnant she would disgrace the family. Again, the guy wansn’t to be blamed here, for years ago it was her word against his. Now we can prove it but the thinking is still a little behind in getting this right.

the men can take presents to the wife , but if the wife takes presents to the husband the husband has a harder time explain how the other person got presents and he didn’t know about it.

I agree that they are both equally wrong, but in answer to your question, why I believe society as a whole believes it’s worse for the woman to cheat. Women have a tendency to get far more emotionally involved with who they are cheating with then men. Men usually just grab a wham bam thank you ma’am and go back home to their wife and forget about side girl until next time he sees her. The emotonal involvement causes a woman to dwell on the man 24/7 and it does more damage to the marriage even before it’s discovered. I could be wrong but that is my opinion.

For years women have been 2nd class citizens. Just recently got the right to vote and all that jazz…They still are not treated as equals in any part of life really. When men date around, they are studs. Women who date around are whores.. It’s a sad little world we live in, isn’t it?

i think both are equally bad and horrible but in our country the women really do have more strength and power to control her self then the man dose and if she is doing that cheating i mean then that means she is not happy with what her husband is giving her and she dosent love him so why not end the whole thing???

It is just the age old attitude of the society. Cheating is painful and wrong no matter who does it. Most societies in the world were patriarchial till recent. Though we say education has enlightened us, women have come a long way and men are still lagging behind. The just can accept that they can play around but their woman cant.

To many men hold on to the old fashion idea that “It’s a mans world.” A woman’s place is no longer just in the kitchen anymore. I agree that we should be equal to cheating just like a man. Maybe some day equal rights will include equal thinking, but I doubt it.

Its because men are allowed to have multiple wives and that is okay but women are not allowed to have multiple husbands. A woman is a whore when she sleeps with another man while married.

I agree its equally wrong. But women are still seen as the main care givers and are still seen to have less sex drive and more control over it. Thus making them more “guilty”.

MY FIRST ANSWER:- because men know and they agree they are ass holes when it comes to sexual intentions; at the same time they inherently know women are superior and decent species and they cant tolerate when such an expected decent woman does such cheats.. If you again ask why should woman be more responsible, see while wife is carrying its ok for the husband to run around and jump here and there and drink this and that…but NO for the wife…she should take care of the future of the world.

It’s just like when men sleep around they’re called a “ladies man” or a “bachelor”. When women do it they’re called “sluts”.
I think it goes back to the traditional roles that men and women have been placed into since the beginning of time, even going back to caveman times. Males are supposed to spread their seed and females are supposed to stay home and raise the offspring.
Humans are the only species that are monogamous, but there’s still that gene in most males that has them always looking for more. Nowadays it’s almost expected of men to cheat or have a roving eye.
But women are supposed to be the caretakers of the family, so when they cheat it disrupts the whole order of things. I’m not saying genetics are an excuse to cheat, but I think that’s where it all stems from…what makes it more “acceptable” for a man to stray.

it is all the same wrong. but just like with teachers and students if the teacher is the male it always seems like it is worse. One of those things where she is the one that could get into trouble things i guess.
